About

As a musician and visual artist, I dedicate my practice to multimedia installations in which I explore the connections between performance, music and sculpture in order to emphasize their interdependent nature. I examine the sonic potential of different materials and use them as musical instruments, or vice versa, thematize physical aspects of resonating bodies in installations. My works are characterized by their ability be reinterpreted in different ways. They are both sculpture and instrument, display and tool, which means that they are continually „refinished“ and challenge traditional notions of artistic work as commodity. I aim for a perspective that provides room for flexibility and allows me to communicate the transitions between the different states inherent in all materials. Through this approach, I question notions of value and critically reflect on the relationship between creation and commodity, process and progress, and between intrinsic and material value.

I studied Fine Arts in Brussels, Vienna and Paris and graduated from ENSAV La Cambre (BE) in 2023 and the University of Applied Arts Vienna (AT) in 2018. With various musical projects such as Gomme, AUTOR or Geier aus Stahl I performed in the U.S. and Europe and released on labels such as Digital Regress (US), Black Totem Records (FR) and Adagio830 (DE). In 2023, I was awarded a research residency at Q-O2 in Brussels, the development residency at MORPHO in Antwerp, the SAFFCA Residency Prize and the Prix des Amis de La Cambre.
